Afternoon Tea at the Windsor Arms Tea Rooms

Since 1927, Afternoon Tea at the Windsor Arms has been the paramount destination for discerning guests in pursuit of the perfectly indulgent, delectably elegant, and distinctly luxurious high tea experience. We invite you to travel back in time, enjoy for the simple sake of enjoyment, and share in joyful memories in our Parisian-inspired lobby tea rooms or by the fire in our historic, lush purple room. An enchanting and romantic space, it was by this very fireplace that Richard Burton proposed, the second time, to Elizabeth Taylor in 1967.

Located steps from the hustle and bustle of Bloor St, The Windsor Arms is located on the beautiful St Thomas St in Yorkville. Tea Rooms provide the perfect, charming setting to celebrate classic conventions, honour tradition and make new memories as you peruse our diverse, carefully curated selection of over 30 loose leaf teas and delicious treats.

We welcome you to follow your curiosities, satiate your impulses, or follow the direction of our expert staff on hand to guide you through the wide range of tastes and aromas. Our Afternoon Tea experience includes hand-crafted pastries and traditional tea sandwiches, English scones, and a variety of preserves, all freshly prepared in-house on a daily basis.

Our intimate and unique Tea Rooms may be fully or partially reserved for private gatherings such as as corporate functions, bridal and baby showers, or get-togethers with friends. Our team is committed to working with you and your individual needs to craft a truly unforgettable experience.

Monday to Thursday: $65 per person
Friday to Sunday: $85 per person
*Prices are periodically subject to change. Prices do vary on holidays and certain other times of the year. Please enquire for specific pricing details.

Gluten-Free, Vegan, and Vegetarian Afternoon Tea menus are available with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice. Please inform us of any allergies or dietary restrictions when making your reservation. While our kitchen contains allergens, we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

          • BLACK TEA
          • Black Tea is roll broken after withering; there is no steaming as the enzymes need to remain
            active. Roll breaking cracks the surface of the leaf exposing the leaf’s enzymes to oxygen initiating
            oxidation. Oxidation is the process that results in the flavour profiles of Oolong & Black tea.

          • Green Tea is picked then steamed to neutralize active enzymes. After steaming, the leaf is
            withered then manipulated to achieve the desired leaf finished. Once the process is completed it is
            steamed again before maturing to a perfect Green tea.

          • EARL GREY
          • Earl Grey is simply a classic, and an essential staple on every tea list. However, it’s not really a
            kind of tea at all. It’s actually plain black tea, infused with the citrus flavour of the Bergamot
            Orange. This gives a bright, tart and refreshing taste that is unlike any other black tea.

          • WHITE TEA
          • White Tea is made with leaves that are processed in a manner to let them wilt slightly and lose the
            ‘grassy’ taste of most Green tea, while undergoing minimal oxidation. The buds and leaves used in
            White tea are often younger, resulting in a higher amount of caffeine than Green teas. Enjoy some
            of this healthy, original blend from the Chinese province of Fujian.

          • PU-ERH TEA
          • Pu-erh can be made from Black or Green tea. Moisture is introduced to the dry, finished leaf to
            encourage decomposition over time. Pu-erh was traditionally aged caves, although now it is
            usually buried underground. Aging is desirable as is the earthy aroma, fragrance and taste.
          • Pu-Erh (FT) | China

          • MASALA CHAI
          • Masala Chai is a blend from the content of India. It is made by brewing a mixture of aromatic
            Indian spices and herbs. Chai is made by simmering or boiling a mixture of water with loose leaf
            tea, and a variety of spices. Popular to North America is a ‘cold’ chai.
          • Chai Arms (FT) | Cinnamon, Cloves, Cardamom, Ginger, Pepper & Organic Black

          • OOLONG
          • Oolong Tea is basket tossed after withering. There is no steaming, as the enzymes need to remain
            active. Basket tossing bruises the edges and exposes the leaf’s enzymes to oxygen initiating
            oxidation. Oxidation is the process that results in the flavour profiles of Oolong & Black tea. After
            partial oxidation occurs, the leaf is then pan fried.

          • POUCHONG
          • Pouchong is a lightly oxidized blend somewhere between Green and Oolong tea. However, it is
